Most of the UK’s nuclear shelters, and certainly nuclear bunkers, are the reserve of selected government and military officials in the event of a nuclear attack on the country. However, following the recent Russian offensive against the Ukraine, we may start to see the construction of many more nuclear shelters with the possibility that they may become the norm over the next few years.

“Since the war began earlier this month, we have been inundated with nuclear shelter enquiries from people across the UK and Europe,” states Paul Weldon, managing director of The Panic Room Company.

Continues Paul: “The fear that the invasion has generated is tangible and lots of individuals are exploring ways in which they might protect themselves and their family in the event of nuclear war. The addition of a nuclear shelter is one of the best, and only, ways to do this. As such, we think that there will be a distinct trend towards the inclusion of a nuclear shelter for residential properties as a result of what’s happening in the Ukraine.

“We have designed, constructed and installed several nuclear shelters in recent years. The majority have been for clients overseas but just last year we built a nuclear shelter in the south of England for a private client.

“Featuring a state-of-the-art ventilation system to provide complete nuclear, biological and chemical protection, the shelter was also fitted with a high-grade blast door, self-contained generator, full communications and a medical store.

Concludes Paul: “Ensuring you the have the very best protection in place in an uncertain world is a priority for many and, here at The Panic Room Company we can deliver this whenever required. So, if you’re considering the installation of an NBC nuclear shelter and would like further information or would like to arrange a site consultation, please don’t hesitate to contact us.”
