Sweden have confirmed that it is issuing an updated version of their Cold War-era civil emergency guide with the updated version reflecting the current conflict with Russia. The new version aims to adapt to reflect today’s security policy reality and what to do in the event of a nuclear attack.

The booklet, called “If Crisis or War Comes” is to include lessons learnt from Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. More than 5 million copies will be sent out to households to strengthen preparations for crises and wars, with the booklet also available digitally. The updated version will be available in November for Swedish households.

This act to inform Swedish citizens puts Sweden ahead of many NATO members, including the UK, in relation to advising citizens in what to do in the event of a nuclear threat. This also comes as news that the UK is facing heightened threats from both Iran and Russia.

The best way to protect yourself and your family in the event of a nuclear attack is to include a nuclear shelter within your home or commercial property. Here at The Panic Room Company, we are seeing rising demand for nuclear shelters, especially within residential properties in the UK. If you are interested in including a nuclear shelter within your property, please do not hesitate to contact us for more information.
