Last Thursday, Italian football legend Robert Baggio was robbed and held at gunpoint in his home whilst watching the Italy-Spain match with his family.

At least five individuals forcibly entered the footballer’s home in northern Italy at 10 pm armed. The burglars ransacked the footballer’s home and took jewellery, watches, and cash. Baggio was harmed during the break-in (The Guardian).

This also comes as England’s Euro 2024 players have been given checklists by the police on how to protect themselves and their loved ones whilst they are playing in Germany. There have been several high-profile break-ins recently, including the invasion of Raheem Sterling’s home during the 2022 World Cup. Security sources have confirmed that there is a trend of organised criminal gangs targeting UK cities such as London, Manchester, and Liverpool (DailyMail.com).
