“Exceptionally well received” is how Steve Brook, Business Development Director for the Panic Room Company, described the product’s recent outing at the Counter Terror Expo in London Olympia.  Taking place on 25 and 26 April, the Panic Room was admired and  considered by over 8,500 attendees from Europe, Africa, Middle East, Asia and Central and South America.

Steve comments, “Already on a high having been shortlisted in the category of Personal Protection Equipment in the CTSS Awards, the Panic Room Company was delighted with the reception and interest we received at the recent Counter Terror Expo.  Not only are we now dealing with many agents and distributors who are taking our product to a global audience but we are also increasing the number of applications for use of the Panic Room thus proving its exceptional flexibility.  The Room can be modified for use as a safe for valuables or indeed sensitive assets such as TNT explosive in mining areas.  Government staff and aid agencies working in dangerous areas on a temporary basis are especially interested in the Panic Room, as are maritime protection specialists and those involved in the security of VIPs.”

Steve continues, “As the Panic Room unit is proven to be easily and quickly installed and uninstalled, without the use of welding equipment, our customers are able to spot the sound investment case for purchase.  At every show we have exhibited, whether in the UK or overseas, potential clients have identified new  and varied applications for this scalable solution that can be adapted for every market and threat level.”

The 2012 Counter Terror Expo had the largest attendance in the Event’s history with 8,519 members of the counter terror community coming together, 9.9% up on 2011.  This proves that combating terrorism is at the top of the agenda going forward, past this year’s Olympics, for key decision makers within the Government, Military, Law Enforcement, Emergency Services, Private Sector, Critical National Infrastructure and the Security Services.

The Panic Room Company are pleased to support our Distributor in Spain (SIMEC) at the SICUR show on stand 10C18 between 28th February 2012 and 2nd March 2012. We look forward to meeting our customers from Iberia and also international markets such as South America.

The Panic Room was exhibited again at the DSEi show where there was a higher level of interest from the military field as well as security companies. The Panic Room was identified as an ideal solution for maritime protection against the threat of a piracy attack as no welding equipment is needed for installation so it can be retrofitted on cargo ships carrying flammable product.. In addition embassies were identified to protect government workers in their offices and residences due to its portability, which means that no permissions are required for short term use.

Following the successful launch in the UK the Panic Room was exhibited in South Africa. This market needs a higher level of ballistic protection compared with the UK as the threat of AK47 attack is more commonplace. The target audiences were government, United Nations, and high net worth individuals. The room was identified as an ideal solution to protect lone workers for government and oil and gas exploration industries as well as mineral companies and farmers.

The Launch of the Panic Room Company at IFSEC Birmingham created a lot of interest for this new concept in personal protection. Target audiences were the security, police and government sectors to protect high net worth individuals, VIPs, and those working in high risk areas. There was considerable interest from international markets such as South Africa and Middle East where we are looking for distributors. The room was identified as an ideal solution for commercial, domestic and also temporary use at events to protect VIPs.
